Parents of middle school soccer players,

I really enjoyed coaching the boys this fall. It was a pleasure to work with them and I hope to continue to do so and build relationships with them. There is another opportunity to play some soccer with our NCS team in Liberty's indoor soccer league, also known as soccer mania. I sent home an information sheet with the boys but knowing middle schoolers they may not all have gotten home to you.

We currently have 6 on our roster and need at least 10, but we can have up to 15. I encourage you to talk to your player and see if he is interested in playing. I have always loved indoor and think it's a really fun way to stay sharp and get some competition in the "off season". There are 7 regular season games and a playoff weekend. All games take place on Saturday afternoons and are one hour long. There are no practices, and if they miss a game, that's alright.

To sign up, please email me with your player's name, shirt size, and your preferred email address by tomorrow, November 1st, at 3 pm. I'll add him to the roster, then liberty will send you a link to the online assumption of risk form. This form must be signed by you by the end of the day tomorrow, November 1st.

The payment is $65 for the team fee and the t-shirt. Payment deadline has been extended to this Friday, November 4th. Hello Parents,

Today is a half day of school but your athletes will need to be back at school by 2 pm to leave for North Cross. Please make sure to have them here on time so the bus is not delayed. They will be stopping for a fast food dinner on the way back and we hope to have them back at the school around 8 pm.  A phone will be provided on the bus for them to call/text you an expected arrival time when they get on the road.

If you would like your athlete to take the bus to tomorrows game, please be at New Covenant at 8:45 am for a   9 am departure. All athletes should wear the blue jersey.

Hello Parents,

This Friday and Saturday the MS Soccer Team will be traveling to RVCS for the VACA Tournament.  Friday the team will be traveling by bus and Jackie Umbarger will be transporting the overflow. Departure from school is at 3 pm. If the team wins their Friday match, they will compete again on Saturday at 11 am. Saturday is Parent Transport. We will need some parent help with transportation next Thursday, October 20th for our North Cross game. The team will depart the school at 2:15 pm and we are in need of parent drivers for approximately 6 athletes. Please contact me at rlayne@newcovenantschools.org if you can be of assistance.

No Soccer Practice/Games Today, Thursday, September 29th

The Middle School Boys will be play the South West Virginia Homeschool team at 4:30 pm. Transportation will be similar to last Friday with Mr. Heaton driving the bus and Jackie Umbarger transporting the overflow athletes. The bus will stay for the Varsity game at 6:15 pm and be stopping for dinner on the way home. If your athlete will be riding on the bus they will likely be returning between 9:30-10:00 pm. Please make sure they have money for dinner.

Jackie Umbarger will be leaving after the Middle School game and will be able to bring a few athletes back with her if you need you athlete back sooner.

For planning purposes, please email me (rlayne@newcovenantschools.org) and let me know if you will be attending this game and transporting you son home, or if they will be riding the bus. The Middle School Bus will remain at Westover for the players to watch the Varsity game at 6:15 pm.  At the conclusion of the game they will return with the Varsity players and stop for dinner on the way home. 

If you are attending this game and leave with your player, you must let the driver (Mr. Heaton) and coach know BEFORE leaving with your player.

Hello Parents,

We will have three teams traveling to Westover this Friday and with large soccer teams we will be overflowing the buses!  The Varsity Soccer team will be taking 1 bus and the Smiths have volunteered to carry 6 players in their vehicle to the game. This will be tight so if any parents will be traveling and would like to transport a player or two, please let me know. The bus will depart New Covenant at 4 pm.

The Middle School soccer team will be transported on a bus John Heaton is driving and Jackie Umbarger will carry some players in her vehicle. A girls middle school volleyball team is also headed to the same location and some of the boys will ride on that bus (sitting up front).
