Parents,

Based on the forecast for late tonight and tomorrow morning, New Covenant has cancelled the Middle School Basketball Tournament for Saturday morning. Due to the weather forecast, we feel this is the safest course of action. We will be continuing with the tournament for the Varsity games tonight and tomorrow afternoon as scheduled.

New Covenant Schools

The Varsity and MS Boys Basketball Games have been cancelled for tomorrow, December 7th. 

The boys will practice:

Varsity Men   4:15-5:30  Workman

MS Boys       3:15-4:00  Moomaw

Dear Parents,

As you know we host two basketball tournaments that our middle school boys will enjoy on their home court(s).  Along with several other home games there are eight remaining away games scheduled.  After speaking with the coaches and discussing the challenges of travel with 15 players I have asked our coaches to create a travel group of 12 players.  Our buses carry 15 passengers and with two coaches and book keeper we will travel 12 players to away games.

Home Games:  All 15 players will dress for home games. 

Away Games:  Six players will rotate for away games.  The coaches will create a travel group of 3 White team players and 3 Blue team players that will rotate for away games.  

We value sports at New Covenant schools and encourage participation at all levels.  However this winter we have 11 different basketball teams which has created considerable challenges, pushing our practice/game space and bus availability to their limits.    

Next week the coaches will create a blue and white travel team and we will keep parents updated for your planning purposes.

Basketball uniforms are due in the athletic office when we return from Winter Break, Wednesday, February 21st.

No Spring Sport Uniform will be issued if the previous uniform has not been returned. 

If your athlete will be playing a spring sport, they must be registered (www.newcoveantathletics.org) by Friday, February 23rd .  Late registrations will only be allowed with the coach and Athletic Departments approval. A late registration charge may apply!
