There has been some confusion, but todays  varsity lax game against Miller school is at 4:30 pm.

Tomorrow we will be playing a 5:30 game in Salem against William Fleming.  As this is a school night, we would like to get athletes back to Lynchburg as early as possible.  To this end we will be ordering Pizza to the field and bringing drinks with us for dinner instead of a lengthy dinner stop. Please send $5 with your athlete to help cover the cost of their dinner.
 

The JV soccer game vs VES has been cancelled.  There will be NO PRACTICE for Jr. Gryphon soccer, MS soccer or JV soccer.

Varsity, MS and Junior Gryphon Lacrosse will practice as scheduled.

Tennis will practice in Workman Fieldhouse.

As of now, the Varsity Golf and Soccer matches will be played as scheduled.

Due to the rain, the Wednesday Varsity Lacrosse practice scheduled for today has been cancelled. 

Due to the forecast for tomorrow, we are cancelling Fridays practice for Junior Gryphon Soccer, Junior Gryphon Lacrosse, MS Lacrosse, MS Soccer, Golf and Tennis.

Varsity Soccer and Lacrosse teams will practice in the gyms.  Please bring appropriate shoes.

Dear Parents,

Thanks for your support this past Friday as we opened the varsity lacrosse season.  After two weeks off and some line-up adjustments we needed a competitive game.  The boys did well and we we’re able to play some younger guys which will pay off as the season moves forward.

Tuesday we travel to Fork Union Military Academy in Fluvanna County for a 4:00 PM game.  We will stop for a quick dinner at Subway just south of Fork Union on Rt. 15 and hope to be back in Lynchburg by 8:00 pm. 

Twenty years ago I was teaching and coaching at Fork Union and was able to start-up a middle school lacrosse program.  Two boys involved with the program went on to play college lacrosse and many continued with lacrosse because they started playing at a young age.  Some are now coaching lacrosse and impacting a new generation of players.  Leadership is critical to the success within athletic teams, families, churches, schools and businesses at all levels.  Knowing the influence of those a little older and wiser can impact the younger I will be assigning each senior a younger teammate to mentor.   Passing on life lessons, offering encouragement, communicating values and living out their faith with their younger teammate is the purpose our mentor program.

The Varsity Boys Lacrosse team will be going to Bojangles for lunch tomorrow.  This is a half day of school and we will transport them by bus leaving the school around 12:30 pm. After lunch, they will return to school and warm up for the 4:30 game.

Please send money for lunch with your athlete tomorrow.

This Saturday, January 28th from 1:00-3:00 PM, we will be offering Box Lacrosse in Moomaw Gym for all 8th-12th grade boys. This will be a fun way to get ready for the upcoming lacrosse season.  Please bring your stick and wear indoor athletic shoes.
