VARSITY LETTERS: Each athletic season, we will award letters to deserving varsity athletes. Please note the following items regarding the policy for earning a varsity letter:
1. The varsity coach must recommend the athlete for a letter. Athletes are expected to uphold team values and demonstrate the mission of school. Commitment to the program as well as commendable conduct and character are expected of every varsity letter winner.
2. To earn a varsity letter, the athlete must meet participation and attendance criteria set by the athletic department. Team sport athletes must attend all games and participate at least 50% of games to earn a letter. For example, a basketball player would need to play in at least 12 of 24 scheduled games to earn a letter. Sports such as cross-county, tennis, swimming, track or golf require the athlete to compete in at least 70% of the meets/matches to earn a letter. For example, a golfer would need to participate in 7 matches out of 10 scheduled to earn a varsity letter.
*Please note, any unexcused absences from practice or games results in forfeiture of letter. Absence from a practice or game must be communicated prior to the date and approved by the coach to be considered excused.
